'Follow the voice' - The Zahir - Week 3

Who is the voice?

"Whenever I listen to the voice, everything seems to make sense. It tells me to carry on, even when I feel lost, and assures me that every step I take is taking me closer to my destiny." - The Narrator in the Zahir.

This is week three of our slow read of The Zahir and I want to focus on the repeated reference to The Voice - the invisible character that plays a significant role in the life of the narrator of the story and in the mind of Mikhail. (See last week’s post for more on Mikhail) I will also revisit the role of the Virgin Mary as the feminine face of God in the novel.
